We are recruiting Dairy Operations Apprentices!

Sourcing milk from over 1,000 farms across the UK, we serve millions of families every day with a range of branded and private label goods.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Müller Milk & Ingredients at our Bellshill site in an apprenticeship role as a Dairy Operator. We have ambitious plans to grow our business and transform the dairy industry, and need people who can grow with us.

Core training topics

This Apprenticeship combines technical training, academic study, and work‑based learning, covering all the fundamental topics you need to know, such as:

  • Health & Safety in Food Manufacturing
  • Food Safety Standards in Manufacturing
  • Problem Solving, Communication Skills & Working with Others

In the first year you will spend time in the Chill, Laboratory, Process and Filling Hall functions to gain knowledge of each department. In Year 2 you will be based within the Filling Hall or Despatch department in preparation for an exit role into the business.

This programme is delivered in partnership with our training provider, National Food & Drink Training (NFDT). You’ll spend block weeks throughout the two years, returning to site to embed your learning with our team while continuing to work with NFDT to complete your apprenticeship.

You will need to meet the following entry requirements:

  • Ability to take a proactive approach
  • Ability to take ownership of own work
  • Demonstrates a self‑motivated and proactive approach to work and studies
  • Ability to demonstrate good team‑working skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment

What to expect?

At the end of the Apprenticeship programme, you will gain the following qualification:

  • SCQF Level 6 qualification in Food & Drink Operations

There are progressive routes within the business for candidates who show a willingness to learn.

You will also benefit from:

  • An annual salary of £19,000 with structured increases yearly
  • A full‑time role of 40 hours per week
