We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s. It’s an incredibly fast-paced environment where you need to pivot often. There’s a real team ethos, and people who transform this part of the business are valued.

The Transformation Division translates business strategy into high-impact programmes that drive growth, enhance customer experience, and support long-term sustainable performance. Working with senior leaders and Finance, the team shapes and delivers initiatives across the organisation to stay competitive in a fast-moving retail landscape. You will contribute to a multi-year transformation agenda that delivers meaningful outcomes for colleagues and customers.

More About The Role

As a Transformation Manager, you will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery and shaping through to delivery handover. You will bring clarity to ambiguous challenges by identifying the right business questions, applying an outcome-driven approach, and developing practical, evidence-based solutions. This includes building robust business cases, establishing governance frameworks, and coordinating matrix teams to deliver change effectively.

On a day-to-day basis, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to identify opportunities, manage risks, and influence key decisions. You may work on initiatives focused on revenue generation, cost optimisation, or the design and delivery of strategic transformation programmes. You will also play an active role in embedding agile ways of working and fostering a culture that supports innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

You are a proactive and curious individual who approaches challenges with resilience and a growth mindset. You build credibility quickly and can influence effectively at all organisational levels through clear, structured communication. You champion collaborative ways of working and foster an environment where teams are encouraged to think creatively, test ideas, and deliver measurable outcomes.
