Salary Grade: £25,949 per annum | Part Time: 13 hours per week | Hours: Saturday and Sunday | Position: Permanent, Part Time | Employer: Bowgreave Rise Care Home

Role Overview

The Cleaning Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control throughout Bowgreave Rise. This role combines hands‑on cleaning duties with supervisory responsibilities to ensure the smooth, efficient, and compliant operation of the cleaning service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily cleaning tasks across allocated areas of the care home.
  • Ensure all cleaning is completed to required standards, following infection control protocols.
  • Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and in accordance with training and COSHH regulations.
  • Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests when required.
  • Manage stock levels, including monitoring usage and ensuring adequate supplies at all times.
  • Complete stock ordering in line with company procedures.
  • Manage staff annual leave, ensuring adequate cover and maintaining the cleaning rota.
  • Ensure all mandatory paperwork and cleaning logs are completed accurately and on time by all staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of audits, checks, training, incidents, and compliance documents.
  • Support with staff training, coaching, and performance where required.
  • Ensure all staff follow cleaning standards, health & safety requirements, and infection control policies.
  • Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns promptly.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience in a cleaning role, ideally within a care home or similar environment.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader position.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and paperwork.
  • Understanding of infection control and health & safety requirements.
  • Good communication skills and a supportive leadership style.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of COSHH and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Experience managing rotas or staff leave allocation.
