Mains / Service Layer Trainer (Full Training Provided)

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 plus pension, provided lunches, full training, progression and holiday.
This role offers a stable, long-term opportunity for experienced mains or service layer professionals to transition from site work into a structured training environment. You will deliver and assess Level 1 Certificates and Level 2 Diplomas in Network Construction Operations (Gas and Water) and guide learners through practical and theory‑based training, building competence, confidence and safe working practices.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and assess Level 1 Certificates and Level 2 Diplomas in Network Construction Operations (Gas and Water)
- Guide learners through practical and theory‑based training, building competence, confidence and safe working practices
- Provide structured feedback throughout learners’ journey
- Support learners across both practical and classroom‑based environments
Person – Requirements
- Background in mains laying or service laying with gas experience essential
- Competent in multi‑lay gas and water operations with excavation experience
- Experience with multi‑lay and excavation work, and ideally water exposure
- Willing to transition off the tools into a training role
- Based within commutable distance of Manchester
- Commitment to Monday‑to‑Friday schedule, 7:30/8:00 start, eight‑hour day
