Pre‑School Deputy Manager – Single Status Grade 7 (Points 18-19)

Hours of work: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), full‑time, term‑time only (including INSET days) plus one extra week in the school holidays.

Salary: £28,720 – £29,398 pro rata (actual pay £25,448 – £26,048).

Employment type: Permanent. Closing date: 9 am Monday 1 June 2026. Interview date: Tuesday 9 June 2026. Start date: 1 September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality provision for families.
  • Deputise for the Pre‑School Teacher when required.
  • Ensure that the best possible environment and care are provided for young children.
  • Ensure statutory and Ofsted regulations are adhered to.
  • Work alongside the Pre‑School Teacher to oversee the operation of the Pre‑School to the highest standards.
  • Provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment for children and embed all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to the highest standard.

Requirements

Candidate must not be disqualified under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate this by completing a self‑declaration form as part of the pre‑employment checks. If a candidate is found to be disqualified, the offer is subject to Ofsted approval after a waiver application.
