Job Overview
The wonderful team at Just Riding are looking for an enthusiastic level 2 equine groom apprentice to join their team. We are a small riding school and a producer of top‑class show hunters. The successful candidate will be working with both the riding school horses and the show ponies/horses.
Responsibilities
- Mucking out
- Turning out and bringing in
- General care of the horses
- Helping with lessons
- Yard duties to ensure the yard runs efficiently
Hours
The hours will be 20 per week over 3 days, to include 1 weekend day to begin with. Hours will increase to full-time with the start of the new show season.
Qualifications & Requirements
Some previous experience with horses would be beneficial to being successful in this application. Functional Skills in maths and English are required if needed. No accommodation is available, but it may be possible to bring your own horse, depending on capacity.
Training & Certification
- All training will take place at the employer’s premises, with the support of the employer, and will be carried out by Haddon Training.
- The apprentice will achieve an Equine Groom Level 2 qualification.
- Functional Skills in maths and English if required.
