Job Overview

We are looking for a dynamic forward‑thinking individual to work within the Fast Track Office. This role is part of the Cancer Services at North Bristol Trust and involves managing patient appointments and supporting the Urgent Suspected Cancer clinics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate patient appointments to attend Urgent Suspected Cancer clinics, working against CWT standards via telephone, including any changes to pre‑planned dates.
  • Ensure all relevant patient information is recorded on the Trust’s PAS system and updated accordingly.
  • Act as the point of contact in the Trust for Urgent Suspected Cancer clinic enquiries from patients and staff.
  • Work flexibly and provide cross cover for colleagues in the Department.

Essential Criteria

  • Organisational skills.
  • Problem solving ability.
  • Team working.
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Experience of using Microsoft packages and/or data entry.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good keyboard skills.
  • Ability to plan own workload.
  • Self confidence.
  • Team player who can work on own initiative.
  • Good telephone manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience of working in a medical environment.
  • Experience of the E‑Referral system and booking appointments on medical systems.
  • Secretarial/typing experience.
