The role is varied and requiressignificant administration experience, excellent prioritisation and timemanagement skills, a positive attitude towards working within the NHS andgeneral practice and a willingness to adapt to changing demands within the NHS. You should enjoy a varied role, have excellent communication and IT skills aswell as be able to exercise initiative, be proactive and be able to problemsolve.
You should be able to work wellunder pressure in a fast-paced environment.

This post is up to 37.5 hours per week, the hours will be required to be worked over 5 days Monday to Friday.

You will be responsible foradmin duties such as working through workflow lists and tasks plus letters, reports, and other clinical documents. Job responsibilities
Providean excellent and efficient administration service for our patients and for thepractices growing clinical team and health professionals as required. Thisincludes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, and other clinicaldocuments in an accurate and quality manner.
Toassist the admin team with all clerical and administrative duties including monitoring and invitations for QOF.
Actiontasks and workflow lists in a timely and efficient manner.
Reviewand prioritise workload in order to ensure all work is completed in a timelymanner.
Supportand implement processes in relation to improvement of efficiencies.
Tomake appointments and bookings, as and when required.
Contactand liaise with hospitals and other outside agencies as requested in relationto patient care and appointments.
Tosupport the management team in arranging meetings (to include the booking ofrooms) as required and to attend meetings and take minutes.
Supportpatients through their practice journey.
Tohelp with practice promotional material and displays for patient education andnew services etc.
Toestablish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written orcomputer information is easily accessible and secure.
Toretrieve medical records and assist the completion of medical/insurancerecords.
Toaction SARS requests for patient records for legal and other purposes
Filepatient records and correspondence in patient medical records.
Toreceive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitatetimely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealingwith appropriate queries.
Tomaintain the computer clinic system and referral pathways in an accurate andsecure manner.
Toassist with the gathering of statistics and information when required and beinvolved in quality audits.
Toprovide cover for members of the reception team during periods of sickness andannual leave.
Toprocess all incoming and outgoing electronic mail and maintain a pendingsystem.
Responsiblefor developing and maintaining own processes to ensure patient care isparamount and highlighting any issues to the appropriate member of staff.
Sort,scan and attach incoming post and then distribute to the appropriate person/s
Cullingand sorting patient records and letters in preparation for summarising.
Summarisingnew patient records
Reviewingmedical records and producing an accurate summary of the patients medicalhistory from both GP2GP and non GP2GP registrations.
SNOMEDcode information into the practice clinical system
Auditingdata collection standards in the practice
Monitoringpatient call and recall systems.
Filingand retrieving paperwork
Clinician appointment planning andimplementation
Experience
- Previous administration role experience
- Working within a busy office based environment
