Are you a passionate Care Assistant looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Care Assistant to work within the Adult Services based in the Colne area.

Pay Rates: £12.71 – £16.87 per hour Umbrella rate

Successful candidates will be offered different shift patterns starting as ad hoc with potential to be added to the rota. Successful candidates must be over the age of 18 years old. The shifts would be for 08:00 – 15:30, 15:30 – 21:00/22:00 and some 22:00 – 08:00.

Responsibilities

• Participate in physical tasks such as washing, dressing, bathing and feeding clients, including those with special needs arising from physical or mental deterioration.
• Participate in social duties including talking and motivating clients, helping clients to maintain contact with family and community, assisting with shopping and organising group social activities.
• Assist in the creation of a supportive and homely atmosphere where clients can achieve maximum independence.
• Co‑operate with domestic staff to best meet the personal needs of the client.
• Contribute to the establishment records, including support plans.
• Escort clients outside the establishment as required e.g. to the hospital, opticians etc.
• Attend relevant training courses as agreed with the management staff.
• Assist with laundry duties and care of client’s items including emptying and cleaning commodes, making and changing beds and cleaning and tidying lockers.
• Carry out duties for dying and attending to the needs of the deceased person and their relatives.
• Assist management with the administration of medicine.

Skills & Professional Characteristics

• Experience or ability to demonstrate the competence to carry out the job.
• Ability to work without close supervision.
• Ability to complete tasks to required standards and deadlines.

Essential Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 in Direct Care or commitment to study to achieve the qualifications.
• Previous experience working with adults & older people.
• Previous experience working in a residential setting.
• Willingness to work weekends and bank holidays.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training.
