  • Assist with cost analysis, evidence gathering and claim calculations in line with current guidance and best practice
  • Work directly with clients to understand their projects, technical challenges, expenditure and supporting documentation
  • Liaise with finance, technical and operational stakeholders to gather the information required for compliant claims
  • Support Tax Managers with client portfolio management, deadlines, reporting and claim progression
  • Help ensure claims are enquiry-ready, with a clear audit trail and well-organised supporting evidence
  • Contribute to a professional and responsive client experience through clear communication and high-quality work
  • Keep up to date with changes in R&D tax legislation, HMRC guidance and sector best practice

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience working within R&D tax, tax advisory, accounting or a related professional services environment
  • Understanding of R&D tax relief, tax credits, qualifying activity and HMRC expectations
  • Ability to produce clear written work, including technical summaries, client notes and supporting documentation
  • Good numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to work with costing information and Excel-based trackers
  • Commercially aware, proactive and keen to deliver a strong client experience
  • A relevant qualification such as CTA, ACCA, ATT or AAT, or working towards one, would be beneficial

The Person

The ideal candidate will be technically curious, organised and client-focused. They will take pride in producing accurate, well-supported work and will be comfortable working as part of a collaborative, growing team.

This role would suit someone who wants to continue developing their R&D tax expertise while gaining exposure to a wide range of clients, sectors and technical projects. You will be someone who values quality, compliance and strong client relationships, while bringing a positive and professional approach to the team.
