Overview
Gas Safe Register is recruiting a Gas Engineer to join its field services team in North London. The role involves inspecting, reporting, and providing feedback on gas safety standards delivered by registered businesses in the area. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of businesses and ensure inspections and reports are performed in line with Service Level Agreements.
Responsibilities
- Carry out and complete inspections according to the risk model and contractual obligations with the HSE.
- Complete inspections against the Gas Industry Statutory and Normative documents and internal operating procedures.
- Engage with registered businesses to ensure any defects identified are understood and remedied to standard and within the agreed timescale.
- Prepare inspection reports that meet the Service Level Agreement and required quality standards.
- Take appropriate action when unsafe or illegal gas work is identified.
- Communicate effectively with registered businesses and gas consumers.
Qualifications
- Minimum ACS certificates of competence: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1.
- Desirable additional ACS certificates in LPG, Non‑Domestic & Catering, LAU1 and DAH1.
- Experience working with a variety of gas appliances and/or quality controlling gas work.
- Understanding of Health & Safety, Building Regulations, and related codes and normative documents, including ability to risk assess environments.
- Relevant auditor qualification (D32/A1) or equivalent is desirable.
- Commitment to maintaining technical knowledge and industry awareness through CPD.
- Ability to use tools and carry out tests and checks during inspections.
