An exciting vacancy has arisen at our Leeds City Centre office for a Paralegal in our Company & Commercial Team.

The role involves assisting supporting solicitors and fee earners with a wide range of commercial matters from file opening to completion.

KEY TASKS

  • Dealing with matters at all stages, from taking the client’s initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures.
  • Drafting of corporate documentation such as share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements and ancillary documents.
  • Undertaking disclosure exercises with clients.
  • Data room management and review of due diligence on mergers and acquisitions
  • work.
  • Drafting and review of contracts and leases;
  • Supporting other team members on more complex and valuable transactions.
  • Taking instructions from clients and advising accordingly.
  • Developing client relationships and identifying cross referral opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with referral sources.
  • Obtaining and preparing file documentation.
  • Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties.
  • Maintaining legal knowledge and skills.
  • Providing administrative support to other fee earners, solicitors and partners.
  • Liaising with the Accounts department to produce cheques, pay disbursements etc.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving office procedures.
  • Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm.

EXPERIENCE

  • Ideally seeking candidates with 1 year+ of paralegal experience in property law.

OTHER

  • Flexible and ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Excellent written English to produce documents for the clients, other side and third parties.
  • Good spoken English to resolve telephone enquiries.
  • Satisfactory absence record or sound justification for high absenteeism.
  • Able to promote the image of the firm.
