Job Description:

Information Manager (Digital Construction)

Full time 37 hours per week (flexible working arrangements including part time will be considered).

Permanent position.

Salary: up to £44,000 per year (depending on experience).

Location: hybrid working with office location at Pity Me, Durham. We’re open to discussing flexible working.

About the role

As Northumbrian Water Group continues on its most ambitious capital investment programme to date for AMP8, we are expanding our Digital Construction capability to ensure that high‑quality, reliable data is at the heart of our decision‑making. We are looking for an experienced Information Manager to join our Asset Management directorate as an inaugural member of our newly established Digital Construction and Information Management team. In this pivotal role, you will act as the guardian of the ‘Digital Thread,’ ensuring that information flows seamlessly from capital delivery into our operational asset management systems.

You will own and manage the information standards, requirements, and processes that underpin our capital projects. Responsibilities include defining project‑specific Information Requirements (EIRs), overseeing the tactical implementation of our Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud), and assuring the quality and integrity of data delivered by our supply chain partners within the Living Water Enterprise (LWE) and the wider partner ecosystem.

Key accountabilities

  • Standards ownership: support development and governance of the Master Detailed Information Requirements (DIR) catalogue and naming conventions, ensuring alignment with ISO 19650.
  • Project initiation: author Detailed Exchange Information Requirements (DEIRs) to translate strategic goals into clear, contractual deliverables.
  • CDE governance: oversee the strategic management of the Autodesk Construction Cloud, establishing robust workflows, security protocols, and access controls.
  • Supply chain collaboration: engage with partners to raise digital maturity, evaluate BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), and drive compliance.
  • Digital handover: manage the validation and transfer of structured data from the Project Information Model (PIM) to the Asset Information Model (AIM) and enterprise systems such as IBM Maximo.

About you

You are a specialist in Information Management within the built environment, with deep practical knowledge of the ISO 19650 standards. You understand that digital construction is not just about 3D models, but about the structured data that powers them.

You have a proven track record of implementing and administering Common Data Environments, specifically Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or BIM 360, on complex capital projects. You are comfortable authoring technical requirements (EIRs) and assessing supply‑chain responses (BEPs).

Beyond technical skills, you are an excellent communicator capable of translating complex data requirements into clear instructions for non‑technical stakeholders. You have a ‘digital mindset’ and champion the use of technology to solve problems, improve efficiency, and drive collaboration. Experience with Information Requirements Management platforms such as Datum360 and Asset Management systems such as IBM Maximo would be highly advantageous.

We embrace and value Diversity, Inclusion and Equity, and encourage all colleagues to bring their most authentic self to work. We are an equal‑opportunity employer committed to having diverse communities represented within our teams. DBS and security

Applicants will be required to complete a DBS check prior to employment and will undergo a drug and alcohol test within four weeks of start date. Failure to pass a pre‑employment drug screen may result in revocation of the job offer.

Benefits

  • Generous holiday entitlement starting at 26 days, plus bank holidays and additional time off on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Option to buy or sell holidays.
  • Company pension scheme with double match up to 11% employer contribution.
  • Free access to local attractions.
