Highways Clerk of Works

Location: Northamptonshire

Contract: 2‑month contract, extension likely

Rate: £30 – £40 per hour (negotiable)

Responsibilities

• Monitor developer and contractor works for compliance with approved documentation, specifications, planning requirements, legal agreements and permits
• Identify non‑compliant work, agree required remedial action and monitor successful completion
• Monitor works within the highway to ensure operational and public safety, including traffic management compliance
• Liaise with developers, designers, contractors and Development Management and Technical Audit teams to identify and agree design changes required to achieve compliant and acceptable schemes
• Confirm completion of civil engineering works to support maintenance and/or adoption certification

Qualifications

Previous experience in Highways is essential for this role. Carrington West is also looking for Engineers & Inspectors with similar backgrounds across the UK.
