About the Role

Compass Community puts children first through our therapeutic, innovative approach. Integrity, Courage and Care shape how we work. We listen deeply, challenge each other, and fix what needs fixing together.

We are a trauma and attachment–informed organisation that provides extensive therapeutic training and support to all staff. Our approach places the child at the centre of decision‑making, ensuring that education and therapy professionals, parents/carers, local authority teams and, most importantly, our students cooperate to secure outstanding outcomes for all.

Role Overview – We are primarily teachers of children, not subjects. Your core responsibility is knowing the child, building nurturing, professional, and positive relationships and motivating students. You will specialize in Mathematics, teaching across Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3 and GCSE. National subject champions will support you in facilitating learning for children who are our best match.

Compass Community School teachers inspire children, creating a sense of awe and wonder. They plan exciting and engaging learning opportunities that challenge and push students at all levels, including those with special talents or passions. Our children require teachers who can manage complex and challenging behaviours, who use a non‑judgemental, consistent and flexible communication style while providing the attention they need.

We expect our teachers to participate in decision‑making that drives our school, contributes to curriculum development and enhances our extra‑curricular offer, bringing their own interests and passions to the table.
