The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced multi-skilled Carpenter with experience of working within a social housing or local authority environment. You will undertake carpentry and other trade repairs and maintenance work, to provide high quality, ‘right first time’, cost effective building services to the business and its customers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry and other trade repairs and maintenance work in social housing or local authority contexts.
• Follow current legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards, minimizing damage to property fabric.

Requirements

• Experience as a carpenter with extended skills in social housing.
• Ability to undertake associated trade tasks within competency, NVQ2 qualification or equivalent and long‑term relevant trade experience.
• Valid manual UK driving licence, with at least one year of driving experience.
• Ability to use company van (provided by Metworks).
• Background check with Disclosure and Barring Service, updated every 3 years (cost paid by employer).

Salary

The salary displayed will be paid for anyone starting on or after 1st April 2026.
