We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated Assistant Headteacher – SENCO to join our senior leadership team and play a key role in leading our vision for inclusion, SEND and student wellbeing. This is an exciting opportunity to influence whole‑school strategy, further enhance SEND provision, improve outcomes for all students, and contribute to our ongoing school improvement journey.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Headteacher in developing and implementing the vision and strategic direction of the Academy
  • Develop and embed strategies that support the Academy vision and help to improve all elements of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Ensure the Academy is always fully compliant in all areas of Safeguarding
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Take a strategic lead in monitoring, evaluating, and developing the quality of Inclusion and SEND provision across the academy

Monitor progress of students including those with SEND and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching to guide future improvements.

Pay range: L1-L6: £51,771 – £58,569

Full Time, Permanent.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • SENCO Qualification, previous experience as a SENCO or a commitment to undertake the NPQ SENCO qualification within 18 months
  • Degree or relevant qualification in education or a related field
  • Knowledge and understanding of how children learn and how to motivate them
  • Sound knowledge of SEND Code of Practice 2014
  • Excellent leadership, organisation, and strategic planning skills
