Welder / Fabricator

CNC Recruitment are proud to work with a Southwest based Fabrication company, a highly respected design and manufacturing business, who are currently seeking Welders / Fabricators to join their team.

Job type: Full Time, PermanentLocation: Taunton areaWorking hours: Monday to Thursday 8am – 4.30pm and Friday 8am – 4pmPay: £15-£16 per hour DOE – overtime paid at time and quarter for first 5 hours worked over contract and time and a half for anything over that.

The Role:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as an experienced fabricator/welder or completed an apprenticeship or BTEC level 3 in welding/fabrication and gained experience within the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding tasks using different techniques mainly MIG welding
• Read and interpret architectural drawings to understand project specifications
• Fabricate metal structures according to engineering drawings
• Utilize hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and weld metal pieces
• Adhere to quality standards to ensure work meets relevant standards
• Comply with Health and Safety controls

Key Requirements:

• Background in fabrication or manufacturing
• Ability to work from fabrication drawings
• Team player
• Self‑motivated and able to work on own initiative
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Punctual and self‑motivated
• Positive attitude to work with attention to detail
• Flexible approach and able to prioritise tasks
• 5 years minimum experience
• Experience with tube bending machines and robot welding systems or strong willingness to learn and be trained in these technologies is desirable
