Inspired Education is a global group of premium schools, operating 125 independent schools across six continents. Wetherby Pembridge, a co‑educational senior school in Olympia, London, opened in September 2025 and will expand to Years 7‑13.

We are seeking experienced Brass, Woodwind and Violin Teachers to join the music department for the first‑year cohort in September 2026.

Role Summary

As a specialist music teacher, you will collaborate with the Founding Head of Music to develop a world‑class instrumental program and deliver high‑quality individual lessons, ensembles and exam preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach high‑quality individual music lessons to pupils.
  • Promote musical excellence and enjoyment by demonstrating instrumental skills.
  • Safeguard all pupils in line with the school’s safeguarding policy.
  • Prepare and teach lessons tailored to each student’s progress.
  • Maintain detailed records of pupil progress and achievements.
  • Set and communicate weekly practice targets for each pupil.
  • Know exam requirements and marking criteria for ABRSM, Rockschool or Trinity boards relevant to your instrument.
  • Prepare pupils for exams and ensure their success.
  • Use departmental systems to communicate pupil progress and concerns with the Head of Music.
  • Communicate with parents when necessary about pupil progress or concerns.
  • Direct ensembles and music activities as requested by the Head of Music.
  • Engage proactively in departmental initiatives for consistency across curriculum, ensembles and lessons.
  • Support music events in the school‑wide music calendar.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music.
  • Proven success in teaching instrumental lessons to varied ages and skill levels.
  • Professional performance experience.
  • Familiarity with diverse teaching methodologies and techniques.
  • Professional standard in their main instrument.
  • Ability to teach a wide range of musical genres and styles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational abilities to manage schedules, lesson plans and student progress.
  • Capability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Commitment to high standards of professionalism and ethics.
  • Willingness to collaborate with department members.
  • Genuine passion for music education and inspiring a love of music.
  • Dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
