Overview

Old Town Infant School & Nursery is a small but mighty infant school in the heart of Poole town centre. The school is part of Coastal Learning Partnership Multi Academy Trust, a collaborative network of twenty schools.

We are looking for a Midday Assistant to join our lunchtime team. The role involves supervising pupils during the lunch break and maintaining a clean, hygienic eating area. The role may also include serving meals and dishwashing.

Employment details

Hours: 8.75 hours per week, Mon-Fri 11:30am to 1:15pm

Term time plus 3 training days (38.6 working weeks).

Grade C, SCP 3-4 (£12.85 – £13.05 per hour). Actual salary: £4,340 – £4,409 per annum pro rata. Permanent starting 1st September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils during the lunch break.
  • Maintain a clean, hygienic area in which to eat food.
  • Assist with serving meals and dishwashing as required.

Requirements and safeguarding

  • Ideal candidates should have some experience working with children and a willingness to undertake training.
