Field Technician

Location: Bradford area

Work type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

What we do

We provide essential water and wastewater services in Yorkshire, ensuring clean drinking water and reliable wastewater removal. We protect communities, safeguard the environment and plan for sustainable water services 24/7, 365 days a year.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out day‑to‑day maintenance activities on a 24/7 rota, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget and to required quality.
  • Perform proactive network operation and maintenance, complete operational risk assessments, and supervise all network interventions.
  • Respond quickly to network failures to minimise impact on key performance targets, including water supply interruptions and water quality.
  • Provide customer‑facing service: resolve queries during appointments, drive resolution through problem solving, network optimisation and promotion of R+M work.
  • Work independently and with team members, liaising with other departments to resolve issues.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience delivering challenging business targets and performance commitments.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • IT literate.
  • Team player showing respect, providing feedback and supporting development.
  • Ability to influence and drive positive culture and behaviours.
  • Positive approach to change, embracing technology, process and organisational change.

Preferred / Additional Experience

  • Experience in a commercially oriented and/or regulated environment.
  • Experience within water or wastewater sectors, utilities, process or manufacturing industries.
  • Technical understanding of water network and assets.
