About The Post
We are seeking a Personalisation Monitoring Officer for the Personalisation Team, responsible for auditing, monitoring, and closing Direct Payment and Supported Managed Accounts to ensure public funds are used appropriately while maintaining choice, control, and wellbeing for users.
- Audit Direct Payment and Supported Managed Accounts, reviewing bank statements, invoices, payroll, and timesheets to confirm spending aligns with support plans.
- Detect and investigate discrepancies, ensuring compliance with the Care Act and other legislation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records, including a clear folder structure and case notes.
- Liaise with service users, families, appointees, agents, and solicitors to explain audit outcomes and support them during the recovery of unspent money.
- Recover unused funds following monitoring and closedown processes, returning them to the local authority.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Commissioning Improvement & Assurance and other social care units to support shared outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Basic Criminal Record Check is required.
- Ability to provide a reasonable account of any significant periods (6 months or more in the past 3 years) of time lived abroad.
- Must be able to start work with all necessary legal documents, including a valid visa; the council does not hold a Home Office licence and cannot provide sponsorship for skilled or temporary migrant workers.
