Childcare Social Worker – Children in Need

Our client Leicester City Council is looking for a Childcare Social Worker to join their Children in Need team.

Responsibilities

• Works with children and families where additional support is needed to improve wellbeing and safety
• Completes Child in Need assessments and develops support plans
• Identifies risks, strengths, and needs within families
• Provides direct support and intervention to children and parents
• Monitors children’s development, safety, and welfare through regular visits
• Works to prevent family breakdown and reduce escalation to child protection
• Coordinates services and support from education, health, and community agencies
• Attends multi-agency meetings, Child in Need reviews, and planning meetings
• Maintains accurate case records and statutory documentation
• Builds positive relationships with children and families to promote change
• Safeguards children in line with legislation, policies, and procedures
• Works collaboratively with professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people
