About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Support Assistant to join a school for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This is a highly rewarding role, supporting pupils who have complex learning, physical, sensory, and medical needs.

As a Support Assistant, you will provide:

• One-to-one and small group support in both classroom and personal care settings.
• Assist with physical and sensory activities designed to engage and stimulate pupils.
• Support pupils in developing communication, independence, and social interaction skills.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality support.
• Promote a safe, structured environment where every pupil can thrive at their own pace.

What we are looking for

• Experience supporting children or adults with SEND, with experience with PMLD, complex medical needs, or non-verbal communication highly desirable.
• Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting pupils with high levels of need.
• Flexibility and a commitment to working as part of a wider support team.
