Mechanical Assembler (2605/09) Buntingford, England

Salary: GBP14 – GBP14 per hour + £21.00 Overtime Rate

• Stable Temp to Perm, Immediate start
• Location: Buntingford
• Rate Guide: £14.00 per hour, Overtime at £21.00 per hour, time and a half
• This is a 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday.
• Rotating Early and Late shift

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join a busy production team.

Initially, the role will be on the early shift, working from 7:30am to 4:00pm. A late shift of 1:00pm to 10:00pm will be introduced shortly, after which you will be required to work both shifts on a rotating basis. A shift premium is paid after 4.00pm when working on the late shift

Key responsibilities:

• Accurately assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies to specification.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions and bills of materials.
• Use hand tools, power tools and basic measuring equipment.
• Carry out quality checks and ensure components meet tolerance and finish requirements.
• Identify and report non-conformances and work with the team to implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate assembly records and complete paperwork as required.
• Follow health & safety procedures and maintain an orderly work area.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a mechanical assembler or in a similar manufacturing/assembly role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings and follow written instructions.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work the both the early and late shift
• Comfortable standing for prolonged periods and performing light to moderate lifting.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
