Outstation Technician

At Siemens Mobility, we create smart, efficient, sustainable mobility solutions. We are hiring an Outstation Technician for the Cricklewood and Farringdon Depot. The role is shift‑based with a rotating pattern of nights and days.

Responsibilities

• With minimal supervision undertake maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet production plans
• Carry out advanced fault finding and diagnostic activities
• Assist other team members with the development of technical skills
• Provide technical support at incidents off depot and at stations
• Undertake any other duties as required
• Produce complex, analytical technical reports on fault investigations
• Specialise in areas of technical expertise

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical and electrical fault finding
• NVQ level 3 or above in a relevant engineering field
• Relevant experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment, ideally within rolling‑stock maintenance
• Ability to complete records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures
• Understanding of tool care and appropriate PPE usage
• Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio‑hazards, manual handling and COSHH
• Ability to use a laptop for diagnostic purposes
• Ability to interpret relevant technical publications
• Ability to produce extensive technical reports
