A well-established structural steel fabricator operating across London and the South East, with over 30 years’ experience delivering high-quality steel solutions. Projects range from temporary works (props, walers, gantries) to complex structural frames for commercial and residential developments.

About the Role

They are seeking an experienced Steel Detailer to join their in-house drawing office. You will be responsible for producing accurate 2D drawings and 3D models to support the delivery of structural steel and temporary works projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models using Tekla
• Generate GA, fabrication, and erection drawings
• Prepare material lists, NC files, and schedules
• Interpret engineering and architectural drawings
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams
• Ensure compliance with BS/EN standards and client specifications
• Manage revisions and maintain document control
• Provide technical support to workshop and site teams

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Steel Detailer
• Strong knowledge of structural steelwork and fabrication
• Proficiency in Tekla (other detailing software considered)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Understanding of connections, detailing, and erection principles
• Familiarity with UK standards
• Temporary works experience (e.g. propping, walers)
• AutoCAD or similar software knowledge
• HNC/HND in Structural/Mechanical Engineering
