Field Technician

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on-site sampling and testing of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.
• Prepare and maintain vehicles, tools, and testing equipment before and after site visits.
• Accurately complete test sheets and input data using tablets or digital systems.
• Liaise with senior staff regarding work schedules, sample requirements, and testing procedures.
• Follow all quality control and health & safety procedures on site.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold company standards at all times.

Person specification

• Proven field-based experience in construction materials testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and well‑organised.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Ability to manually handle samples (up to 20 kg).

Desirable

• Experience in a UKAS‑accredited testing environment.
• Knowledge of relevant testing standards and procedures.
• CSCS card.
