Housekeeping assistant

Opportunity for highly motivated and professional housekeepers to join the housekeeping team at the Darland House, Gillingham, a dementia care home.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in accordance with Medway Community Healthcare CIC and NHS national standards for patients, staff, families, and carers.
• Work in areas with patients exhibiting challenging behaviour or communication difficulties.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules and complete tasks requested by line manager.
• Perform periodic cleaning tasks and ad‑hoc requirements.
• Maintain cleaning and catering stock.
• Follow hygiene, health and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Cheerful disposition and adaptability to change.
• Availability for flexible shifts covering 7.30 am to 7.00 pm, Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays.

Shift Work

The post holder will be required to work flexible shifts covering the service from 7.30 am to 7.00 pm, Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays.

Duties

• Daily cleaning schedules.
• Complete tasks as requested by line manager.
• Periodical cleaning tasks within schedules and ad‑hoc cleaning requirements.
• Ensure cleaning and catering stock is maintained.
• Follow hygiene, health and safety regulation.
