Qualifications

  • Valid forklift operator license/certification.
  • Previous experience in waste management or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Current Counterbalance FLT license.
  • Good level of communicative English.
  • Detail conscious and excellent time‑management skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Pass a DBS check and drug/alcohol screening test prior to starting.
  • Experience in Health & Safety training.
  • Understanding of waste management and environmental legislation.
  • Experience with static balers and compactors.
  • Capability to carry out strenuous tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, move, sort, process and dispatch waste and other materials, including compaction of waste and cardboard.
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations and monitor equipment performance.
  • Support the On‑Site Waste Coordinator to meet site objectives.
  • Follow PPE guidance.
  • Work outdoors, including in extreme weather conditions.
  • Manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines.
