About the Role
A specialist SEMH/SEN school in Barking is seeking a proactive and energetic Sports Mentor to join their team ASAP. As a Sports Mentor, you will use sport and physical activity as a tool to engage students who may struggle in a traditional classroom setting.
Responsibilities
- Work on a 1:1 and small group basis, supporting students with behaviour, emotional regulation, and participation in learning.
- Support PE sessions, lead activities, and help students build confidence, teamwork, and resilience.
- Display strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach.
Qualifications / Experience
- Experience using sport to engage young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Confidence building relationships and managing challenging behaviour.
- Proactive, energetic, and able to engage students who may struggle in a traditional classroom setting.
