Senior Vice President, Charities Business Development

Overview
We are seeking a commercially driven and strategically minded business development professional to join our specialist charity team. This role focuses on expanding our presence in the UK charity sector, where we currently manage approximately £3bn in assets. The successful candidate will cultivate new relationships, deepen existing ones, and position the firm as a leading provider of investment solutions to charitable organisations.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth & Client Acquisition
- Independently manage a portfolio of complex charity clients and prospect pipelines.
- Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy in collaboration with charity leadership.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through direct outreach, networking, and sector engagement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior charity stakeholders, aligning our solutions with their long-term strategic goals.
- Act as gatekeeper for charity sector consultants, representing the firm on information provision for product, solutions and other firm-related updates.
- Solution-Oriented Sales
- Deliver the full value of the firm by leveraging deep product knowledge to create tailored, cross-product solutions.
- Structure and negotiate commercial terms that balance client needs with the firm’s risk appetite and revenue goals.
- Share insights on emerging opportunities and market trends with internal product teams, ensuring product scope alignment with client needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams (client service, investment, operations, marketing, legal, compliance) to ensure seamless execution and risk management.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in CRM systems, ensuring full sales lifecycle visibility.
- Market Engagement & Brand Building
- Represent the firm at charity sector events, conferences, and industry bodies.
- Influence charity media and PR to enhance brand visibility.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development or relationship management within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
- Strong understanding of investment markets.
- Comfortable engaging with trustees and senior decision-makers across charities of varying sizes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive commercial outcomes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
