About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and inspirational Deputy Head Teacher to join a welcoming and ambitious primary school within the Sheffield area. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong and experienced school leader who is passionate about driving standards, supporting staff development, and ensuring outstanding outcomes for pupils.

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader, ideally currently operating at Assistant Headteacher level or above, with a proven track record of leadership impact. Alongside leadership responsibilities, the role requires an excellent Year 6 practitioner who can model outstanding teaching practice and support pupils in achieving their full potential during this crucial stage of primary education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school.
  • Lead on raising standards of teaching, learning, and pupil achievement across the school.
  • Deliver and model outstanding classroom practice within Year 6.
  • Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and school improvement priorities.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and aspirational school culture.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and the wider community.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has substantial leadership experience, ideally at Assistant Headteacher level or above.
  • Demonstrates a strong track record of improving outcomes within primary education.
  • Is an exceptional Year 6 practitioner with strong SATs knowledge and experience.
  • Has excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Is passionate about inclusion, pupil wellbeing, and high expectations for all learners.
  • Can inspire and motivate both pupils and staff.
