Overview

The School in Havering, London is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join our team from September 2026. The role will work with children aged 3‑18 who have social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that support the academic and emotional development of all students in the class.
• Collaborate closely with partner teachers to shape curriculum and provide the necessary resources.
• Maintain a positive, nurturing classroom environment where learners can thrive.
• Support children through individualised learning plans and behavioural strategies.
• Participate in CPD and career development activities to continually improve teaching practice.

Qualifications

• Experience as a SEMH teacher, or experience with children with SEN/SEMH.
• For ECTs, a passion for SEN/SEMH and a commitment to professional growth.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to supporting children’s emotional and academic progress.
