Science Technician

Start date: 2 September 2026

Full-time equivalent salary range: £24,796 – £25,583 per annum

Actual salary: £20,734 – £21,392 per annum

Working hours: 37 hours a week, 38 weeks a year (term time only); 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday‑Thursday; 8:00 am – 3:30 pm on Friday. Half‑hour lunch break daily.

Responsibilities

  • Create, prepare and maintain science equipment and materials to support teaching and learning.
  • Provide practical and technical support to teachers delivering the science curriculum.
  • Develop and maintain resources to enable safe and engaging practical activities for staff and students.
  • Advise on COSHH regulations and ensure they are adhered to at all times.
  • Assist the science department in achieving educational standards and student outcomes.
