The Firm

The Tax Department works seamlessly with corporate, M&A, private equity, real estate, and finance teams to provide innovative tax-efficient strategies for a diverse client base, ranging from FTSE 100 companies to private equity-backed businesses.

The Role

The role will be varied and suit a paralegal who enjoys the technical side of law. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to work on high-quality matters, offering exposure to complex transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transactional Support: Assisting on the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring, including conducting tax due diligence and drafting simple tax clauses.
  • Legal Research: Performing factual and substantive research on complex tax legislation, including Corporation Tax, VAT, and Capital Gains Tax.
  • Document Management: Drafting and reviewing tax sections of legal documents, managing signature processes, and maintaining trackers for investor information.
  • Advisory Assistance: Supporting partners in developing tax advisory materials, know-how, and client updates.
  • Compliance: Maintaining corporate records, assisting with HMRC correspondence, and ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures.

About You

  • Education: Law degree (2:1 or above) or GDL/LPC/SQE qualification.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a paralegal in a corporate or tax department is highly desirable, but a paralegal with corporate or transactional experience who has a real interest in tax will also be considered.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail and meticulous drafting abilities.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, able to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
