Commercial Manager – Decentralised Energy Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)

A growing energy technology business is looking to appoint a Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager to support the next phase of its expansion.

The company operates a peer-to-peer energy marketplace, connecting renewable energy generators directly with businesses and consumers. Its platform provides an alternative to traditional energy supply models, helping customers access competitively priced renewable energy while enabling generators to achieve stronger returns for the power they produce.

As the business continues to scale, this role will focus on developing strategic partnerships, driving customer growth, and identifying new commercial opportunities across the UK energy market.

Responsibilities

Commercial Growth

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to support revenue growth.
  • Identify and secure new customers across commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities from initial engagement through to contract completion.
  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with prospective customers and partners.
  • Work towards agreed growth and revenue targets.

Partnership Development

  • Build relationships with renewable energy generators, developers, asset owners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Develop partnerships that increase market reach and customer acquisition.
  • Identify opportunities to work with consultants, brokers, technology providers, and other channel partners.
  • Represent the business at industry events and meetings.

Account & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and partners.
  • Work closely with internal teams including operations, product, and leadership to ensure successful delivery.
  • Act as a key point of contact for strategic accounts.

Market Insight

  • Keep up to date with developments across the UK energy and renewables market.
  • Monitor competitor activity and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Provide commercial feedback and market intelligence to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, partnerships, commercial management, or strategic sales.
  • Background in energy, renewables, utilities, climate technology, SaaS, or a related sector.
  • Track record of winning and growing commercial relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently within a growing business.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers and managing complex commercial discussions.
