HGV Trailer Technician

Our client, a leading provider of transport solutions based in Castle Donington, is seeking to recruit a skilled HGV Trailer Technician. • Monday to Friday working hours, 08:00am – 5:30pm

Duties of a HGV Trailer Technician

• Conduct inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGV trailers
• Diagnose and repair Electronic Braking System (EBS) faults
• Complete compliance and workshop documentation accurately
• Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance
• Attend training courses to enhance technical skills
• Ensure all work is carried out efficiently and to high quality standards
• Support the overall maintenance schedules for heavy vehicles and trailers

Requirements of a HGV Trailer Technician

• Proven experience working on HGV trailers or similar heavy vehicles
• Industry qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ preferred
• Strong diagnostic skills, including experience with EBS systems such as Knorr Bremse, Haldex, or WABCO
• Ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop environment
• Welding experience or certification is advantageous
• Familiarity with axle systems including BPW, SAF, or JOST is preferred
• Experience with tail lifts and double‑deck trailers is desirable
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
