HGV 2 Driver

Overview

The Best Connection Basingstoke are currently looking for HGV 2 drivers for one of our clients in the local area.

Our client is a trusted global logistics partner, specialising in warehousing, packing, shipping, returns management, and stock tracking. You’ll be supporting a highly professional operation that values reliability and excellence.

Hours of Work

• 5 days out of 7, or ad‑hoc work available
• Both night shift and day shift offered
• Temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate

Job Type

• New drivers welcome as well as experienced
• Must hold valid CPC, Digi Tacho, and Category C (Class2) licence
• Must have a valid UK driving licence

Responsibilities of the Class2 Driver

• Operate a Class2 vehicle from Basingstoke to various locations across the UK
• Face-to-face customer interaction
• Load and unload vehicles safely
• Conduct full pre- and post-operation inspections (tyre pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, controls)
• Report safety issues using standard forms
• Follow assigned delivery schedules and job directives precisely
• Liaise daily with dispatch to ensure timely, professional operations
• Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures

Shift Details

• Start: 05:00 – finish
• Expect 8-10 deliveries per shift
• Weekend availability required; workdays can be tailored to suit your lifestyle

Pay Rate

• £17.70 per hour
• £26.55 per hour after 48 hours per week.
