Early Years / Nursery SEN Teacher

I am working with an Special Needs School in Wakefield seeking a caring, creative, and dedicated Early Years / Nursery SEN Teacher to join our team and support children with Special Educational Needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

This would be a Full time role

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Support children with a range of SEN, including speech and language needs, autism, developmental delay, and social/emotional needs.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, therapists, and external professionals to support each child’s development.
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress in line with EYFS requirements.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning and support strategies.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and support planning where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Years qualification, or equivalent relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience working within Early Years and/or SEN settings.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and inclusive practice.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a child-centred approach.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
