Job Description:

Children’s Residential Care Worker – EBD Service (Derby – Mickleover / Littleover)

Salary: £34,369 – £36,490.80 OTE (including sleep‑ins); Sign‑On Bonus: £1,000; Full‑time, Permanent (40 hours, alternate week shift pattern, including sleep‑ins).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day care, guidance, and emotional support to young people.
  • Support children in developing confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Assist with daily routines, activities, and life skills development.
  • Promote a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment.
  • Support education, leisure activities, and community engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to implement care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of behaviours, progress, and key events.
  • Ensure safeguarding and wellbeing remain the priority at all times.

About You

  • NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or QCF Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner.
  • At least 1 year experience within residential childcare.
  • Experience supporting young people with EBD or complex needs (desirable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, resilient, and committed approach to supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
