Your role as a Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant
You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to help students access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their personal goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Helping pupils with SEND, SEMH, Autism (ASD), ADHD, and communication needs
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Building positive relationships and encouraging student engagement
- Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and classroom learning activities
- Supporting personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
- Helping create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Supporting intervention sessions, life skills, and independence development

Requirements
- Commitment to completing the 11-month apprenticeship programme
- GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4 or above preferred
- Must not currently be enrolled on another government-funded course
- Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check (full support provided)
