Specialist Teaching Assistant

A specialist independent SEN school, part of a leading education trust, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs.

The provision supports children and young people with SEMH, Autism, ADHD and communication needs through a highly personalised and therapeutic approach. Staff work within well‑resourced classrooms and alongside experienced clinical teams to ensure every pupil receives the support they need.

Main Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally
• Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons
• Managing challenging behaviour positively and consistently
• Supporting sensory and emotional regulation strategies
• Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources
• Helping create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment

What We’re Looking For

• Experience within SEN, SEMH or care settings
• Positive behaviour management skills
• Resilience and emotional intelligence
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities
• Passion for helping young people achieve their potential
