Senior Activities Coordinator

Location: Lynton Hall, 2 Lynton Rd, New Malden KT3 5EE

Contract: Permanent 24 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 9am – 4pm (alternate weekends)

Salary: £13.20 – £14.20 per hour (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Run morning and afternoon activity sessions tailored to residents, including musical acts, days out, exercise classes, community visitors, arts and crafts.
  • Produce and update an activity planner for the home, working within a set activities budget.
  • Support residents and encourage their participation in activities.
  • Organise birthday surprises for residents.
  • Ensure everything is organised for planned activities, events, performers and coordinate days out.
  • Liaise with external companies and performers from the local community to organise days out/events.
  • Assist with breakfast, lunch and dinner duties when necessary.
  • Organise one‑to‑ones with residents, using reminiscence tools, puzzles, reading or just a cup of tea and a chat.
  • Update paperwork, care plans, activity notes and manage emails.
  • Support the home with their social media channels as required.

Qualifications and Skills

You’re a creative thinker with plenty of ideas, who can manage budgets and maintain paperwork, effectively prioritising as they arise. You want to make a real difference, care for others, share your sense of humour and spread infectious enthusiasm. You can motivate colleagues to support each activity or event, build local links and involve friends and family.
