What to Expect

Gates (U.K.) Limited is recruiting for additional Production Operators at their Eaton Socon, St. Neots location. The role follows a 2 shift pattern: Week 1 Mon‑Fri 06:00‑14:00, Week 2 Mon‑Thu 14:00‑22:30 and 14:00‑20:00 Fri.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work safely at all times, complying with Health & Safety procedures and Gates Life Critical Rules.
  • Identify and report H&S, quality or environmental risks and support containment actions when required.
  • Follow quality control procedures to ensure products are produced right the first time.
  • Support productivity targets through efficient, disciplined working practices; participate in Lean Manufacturing (GPS) activities and accurate data collection.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and actively support 5S.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a small, flexible team and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Keys to Success

  • A good working knowledge/experience of working within a production environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English).

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Requirements And Preferred Skills

  • Experience of working in a production environment is desired.
  • Must be customer and quality focused; demonstrating ability to adapt and change.
  • Promote a positive atmosphere so that the department has a strong team, accepts challenges, and has a strong commitment and desire to exceed and achieve the stated goals and objectives.
  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to train others, being able to communicate effectively, enabling other team members to understand and support company goals and objectives.
  • Must have a flexible attitude/desire to be able to turn their hand to anything; as with the team being very small the duties will be variable and the flexibility of the person is paramount to achieving the goals.
