Overview

Work Patterns: You will work rewarding long day shifts, including early starts, late evenings and weekends, fairly planned within the rotas. Based in our welcoming home in Leek, you will support children and young people (ages 3‑18) with learning disabilities to feel safe, valued and inspired. From helping with daily routines to sharing laughs over games or cheering on small milestones, you will be making a lasting difference.

Responsibilities

  • Support young people with daily routines, including personal care, preparing for school, meal times and bedtime.
  • Maintain a warm, homely environment by assisting with light housekeeping.
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
  • Plan and participate in fun activities such as trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights, and creative projects.
  • Keep essential records for high‑quality care and use an electronic care recording system daily to document, monitor and update children’s and young people’s records. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage; full training will be provided.
  • Use digital systems confidently as part of day‑to‑day tasks.
  • Collaborate with the team to create a nurturing environment that respects each young person’s unique personality, strengths and learning needs.

Qualifications

  • Warm, patient, and caring with a focus on others.
  • No experience needed – full training provided.
  • Real desire to make a difference every day.
  • Hold a manual driver’s licence (vehicles are provided at the home).
  • Able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.
  • Transferable skills in care, learning disabilities, mental health, education, customer service or another people‑focused role.
