What’s the role?
This is an exciting opportunity for a Math Teacher to work with an enthusiastic and dynamic team within the Hospital Outreach Programme (HOP) run by Lewisham Virtual School. This role is largely independent and involves working with children and young people of statutory school age and their families in a variety of settings, including the Lewisham Hospital School Room, the HOP school room, and students’ homes.

Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status Essential
- Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject area
- Experience of peripatetic work is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check
- Term‑time only part‑time position
What We’re Looking For
You will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will be committed to developing the service and collaborating with parents and other professionals to close the gap in attainment for young people unable to attend school for medical reasons. Interest and expertise in meeting the needs of those with physical and mental health needs would be especially welcomed.
Location
Primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU and Lewisham Hospital, London, SE13 6LH, with a hybrid approach requiring work in office and students’ homes.
Salary
£40,317 – £52,300 per annum pro rata (SCP M1‑M6) of the Teacher Main Pay Range (MPR). Term time only.
