Role Overview
As the Test Technician you will be responsible for all testing activities, both CDS (Custom Design Solutions) and Partner Development Projects on our Toughbook products. Our Toughbooks are a range of rugged laptops and tablets designed and engineered to perform in the toughest conditions where we are proud to be market leaders.
You will be required to use and maintain technical equipment to complete Toughbook testing on both in‑house designs and partner solutions.
Responsibilities
- Use technical equipment to test products to ensure performance, compliance, and consumer safety.
- Run environmental tests (High/low and Shock temperature tests, humidity tests, etc.).
- Run mechanical tests (vibration, drop, shock, cycle tests, etc.).
- Run electrical tests (EMC, EMI, etc.).
- Record and interpret test results.
- Coordinate with external test partners when required.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment and systems.
- Set up part and model numbers.
- Arrange shipping of items as required.
- Provide occasional support of production (building units, etc).
- Continuously grow and focus on personal development using the Panasonic Leadership Principles.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/engineering environment with a minimum of 1 year’s past experience (desired).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience using basic Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to deliver accurate and articulate technical reports.
- Excellent communication skills when dealing with a wide variety of people, including colleagues, customers, suppliers, and management.
- Full driver’s licence required.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with automated production machinery and performing equipment testing on them.
- Previous experience with technical reporting in a product testing environment.
- Knowledge of Toughbook products and the accompanying ecosystem.
- High self‑motivation, optimism and determination to succeed.
- A high degree of judgment and problem‑solving capability.
