Job Title – E&I Technician
Location – Haverhill, Suffolk
Salary – £50,000 – £55,000
Shift – Monday to Friday Days (8am – 4pm)
Job Role of the E&I Technician
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an E&I Technician to join a growing and heavily invested manufacturing facility in Haverhill. The site is undergoing major redevelopment including new buildings, machinery, switch rooms and production upgrades. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy, and project work within a close‑knit engineering team.
Working alongside 2 E&I Engineers, 2 Mechanical Engineers and Mechanical Contractors, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving a complex chemical manufacturing facility producing specialist resin products for a wide range of industries including automotive, construction and road repair applications.
You will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, fault‑finding, instrumentation work, planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across a range of process machinery including reactors, distillers, mixers, pumps and pipe systems. The role will also involve supporting ongoing site upgrades and installations as the facility continues to expand.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements of the E&I Technician
- Electrical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Minimum Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification.
Desirable Requirements for the E&I Technician
- COMAH experience would be highly advantageous.
- Experience working with PLC systems and Modicon controls.
- Previous experience within chemical, process or resin manufacturing environments.

The role includes an on‑call rota currently operating at 1 week in 2, moving to 1 week in 4 once the team is fully staffed. Engineers are paid a retainer for being on call, plus additional payments if called out.
