Job Description
Leeds Beckett Students’ Union is looking for a Community Development Assistant to support our vibrant and diverse student groups. This role is ideal for a recent Leeds Beckett graduate or a current student looking to undertake a full‑time placement and gain hands‑on experience in a student‑led organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support student group leaders in navigating Students’ Union processes, building confidence in their roles and delivering activities that bring students together.
- Answer queries, support training sessions, help societies prepare for Freshers’ Fair and assist with events to create welcoming and inclusive student communities.
- Support the delivery of the Community Organising programme, develop intentional relationships with student leaders and help remove barriers to participation.
- Work alongside the Community Development Manager to create a supportive environment where students feel empowered to get involved, connect with others and shape their own communities.
Candidate Profile
- Recent Leeds Beckett graduate or current student.
- Experience or involvement in student groups or similar activities.
- Organised, friendly, and keen to learn.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
